MAUI, HI – For the second time in two days a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Maui, reports the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
Maui police said the victim was a 49-year-old woman who was walking in the middle of Puunene Avenue near Hololea Street in Kahului late Tuesday night.
The pedestrian was struck by a 2021 Ford Bronco that was going northbound at about 11:30 p.m. The woman, whose identity was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford, a 49-year-old man from Kahului, was not injured in the incident.
On Monday night, a 42-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Honoapiilani Highway in Lahaina near milepost 13.
