Our client was riding his motorcycle when a driver suddenly turned left in front of him, cutting off his right-of-way and causing a serious crash. Despite the clear facts, the defense denied any responsibility—claiming our client must have been speeding and that their driver had “plenty of time” to turn safely.
But the story didn’t make sense. The evidence showed the driver was lost, unfamiliar with the area, and made a sudden left turn without checking for oncoming traffic. We presented the case through Hawai‘i’s Court Annexed Arbitration Program, which found in favor of our client.
The defense refused to accept the result and appealed, forcing another round of litigation. Even so, we held firm—and prevailed again.
This case is a reminder that persistence and preparation matter. When the facts are on your side, standing your ground can make all the difference.
