Woman struck, killed by vehicle on Pali Highway in Honolulu

HONOLULU, HI – The Honolulu Police Department has released information regarding a pedestrian fatality that occurred on Monday.

According to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, the incident happened on Pali Highway near Vineyard Boulevard at about 2:25 p.m.  Investigators learned that a woman was crossing in a marked crosswalk against a ‘Do Not Walk’ signal.  She was then struck by a vehicle headed north on Pali Highway.

The victim, a woman in her 60s, died after being transported to an area hospital.  The driver of the vehicle involved, age 37, was not injured and stayed at the scene of the crash.

Police are continuing to investigate the collision, and said they do not believe that speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
