HONOLULU, HI – Police in Honolulu are trying to track down the driver responsible for the death of a pedestrian early Thursday morning.
According to Hawaii News Now, the incident took place on Joseph P. Leong Highway in Haleiwa on the North Shore.
An investigation determined that a woman was walking in the right shoulder lane at about 3:20 a.m. and was struck by a southbound vehicle. The victim died at the scene. Her identity has not yet been publicly released.
The driver involved left the scene without stopping to help or provide information. Anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run was asked to contact the Honolulu Police Department Traffic Division.
