Woman struck by vehicle at bus stop near Kaimuki High School

KAIMUKI, HI – A pedestrian accident near Kaimuki High School on Wednesday afternoon sent two people to the hospital, KITV reported.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said a pedestrian was waiting at a bus stop near Kaimuki Avenue and was struck by a car after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The pedestrian, a 51-year-old woman, was transported to an area hospital and was listed in serious condition.  The driver of the car, a 68-year-old man, was also hospitalized in stable condition.

Police investigating the crash have yet to indicate whether speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
