HONOLULU, HI – Honolulu police said a woman was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on Sunday evening in what was labelled as a hit-and-run incident.

According to KITV, the woman was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle headed west on Waialua Beach Road on Oahu’s North Shore.  The driver struck a plastic water barrier shortly after 7 p.m. and both people were ejected from the motorcycle.

Police said the man who had been operating the motorcycle fled the scene on foot, leaving the 33-year-old woman behind.  She was hospitalized in serious condition.

Authorities are searching for the driver and the motorcycle, which was described as a dark-colored Harley Davidson.
