Woman riding moped struck by vehicle on Farrington Highway

KAPOLEI, HI – Honolulu EMS crews were dispatched to the scene of a collision that injured a moped rider on Tuesday night.

According to a KITV report, the accident happened on Farrington Highway in Kapolei near the Hawaii Electric Kahe Power Plant.

Investigators said a woman riding a moped was struck by a vehicle at that location shortly before 7:30 p.m.  The 58-year-old victim was rushed to an area hospital with extensive injuries, and was listed in critical condition.

The incident shut down the westbound lane of Farrington Highway while the scene was being cleared and investigated.
