Woman in wheelchair struck by vehicle on street in Honolulu

HONOLULU, HI – A woman in a wheelchair was struck by a vehicle in Honolulu Wednesday morning, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene at the intersection of Pali Highway and South Vineyard Boulevard after the accident occurred shortly before 9 a.m.

Witnesses said the woman was crossing the street in her wheelchair at that location near the downtown area when she was hit.

The victim, a woman in her 50s, was reported to have suffered multiple injuries and was hospitalized in serious condition.  No details were released about the vehicle or driver involved.
