HONOLULU, HI – Police in Honolulu released an update regarding a car accident on Likelike Highway last Wednesday, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
Police said one of the passengers involved, a 20-year-old woman has died of her injuries.
The crash took place at about 12:40 a.m. as a 17-year-old boy was driving northbound on the highway. He lost control of the vehicle and collided with a guardrail on the right shoulder.
The 20-year-old woman, a back-seat passenger, was ejected from the vehicle and taken to an area hospital. The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office reported on Sunday that she had passed away.
Investigators do not believe speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the fatal accident.
