Woman dies following crash on Diamond Head Road in Honolulu

HONOLULU, HI – A woman has passed away from her injuries after being involved in a car wreck in  Honolulu, reports the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

The victim was a 34-year-old woman whose name was not immediately released.  She was a passenger in a car that crashed into a parked car Oct. 20 on Diamond Head Road in Kahala.

The Honolulu Police Department said the driver of the car was speeding, lost control, and collided with the parked vehicle near Poka Street at about 8:22 p.m.  The driver, a 59-year-old man, was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Police said speed was a contributing factor in the fatal wreck.
