Woman dies after being hit by vehicle on H1 Freeway in Waipahu

WAIPAHU, HI – A woman was killed in a pedestrian collision in the Waipahu area on Dec. 24, according to the Honolulu Police Department.

The department’s Traffic Division learned that the 31-year-old victim was walking through the traffic lanes of the H1 Freeway at about 8:50 p.m.  She was struck by a westbound vehicle, and died at the scene.

The driver involved, a 27-year-old man, was not injured and stayed at the scene.  Investigators do not believe that speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to contact the Honolulu Police Department.
