HONOLULU, HI – An accident in Honolulu on Sunday morning left a moped rider critically injured, according to a KITV report.
The crash took place in the area of Keeaumoku Street and Liona Street at about 3:10 a.m. Police said a woman was riding a moped south on Keeaumoku Street when she traveled to the right of the roadway and onto the sidewalk, where she struck a hollow-tile cement wall. The 29-year-old rider was ejected onto the sidewalk area, and was rushed by paramedics to an area hospital where she was listed in critical condition.
The woman was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash said.
Investigators do not believe that speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the collision.
