The victim, a 76-year-old woman, was critically injured in the crash. It occurred Sunday morning at Farrington Highway and Pahu Street in Waipahu.
An investigation determined that the woman was walking across the street at about 7:40 a.m. when she was struck by a vehicle turning right from Farrington Highway onto Pahu Street. Police said the driver stopped at first but then left the scene without providing any help. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital.
