HONOLULU, HI – Honolulu police have released additional details on a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Wednesday morning in Kahaluu, Hawaii News Now reports.
The victim was a 37-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle near Kahekili Highway and Ahuimanu Road in Kahaluu at about 5:10 a.m. An investigation determined that she was hit by a pickup truck headed east on Kahekili Highway.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup, a 67-year-old man, was not injured. Investigators do not believe that speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the incident.
Police closed Kahekili Highway was closed in both directions during the crash investigation.
