HONOLULU, HI – The victim of a multi-vehicle collision in the Haleiwa area last month has been identified, according to a KITV report.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office said the man who died in the Sept. 24 wreck was 21-year-old Koali Denning-Ring of Ewa Beach.
The crash happened on the morning of Sept. 24 along Joseph P. Leong Highway at about 6:08 p.m. An investigation determined that a 58-year-old man was driving northbound when his vehicle crossed into the southbound lane near Emerson Road. He sideswiped a second vehicle, then continued forward and collided head-on with a third southbound vehicle driven by Denning-Ring, before sideswiping a fourth.
Denning-Ring was ejected onto the roadway and died at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle, a juvenile female, sustained minor injuries and refused treatment. No other injuries were reported.
The 58-year-old driver remained at the scene.
Police do not believe speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the fatal wreck.
