HONOLULU, HI – Honolulu police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run collision that injured a motorcyclist on Saturday night.
According to a release from the Honolulu Police Department, the crash happened on South King Street in the McCully area at about 10:19 p.m. A 17-year-old male was riding an E-motorcycle westbound when he was struck by an unidentified female driver who was making a left turn into the driveway of 2646 South King Street.
Investigators said the driver exited the vehicle briefly to check on the motorcyclist before leaving the scene traveling westbound on South King Street without providing any help or information.
The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
The vehicle involved was later located parked and unattended, but the driver is still unknown.
Police have yet to determine whether speed, drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision. Anyone with further information was asked to contact the Honolulu Police Department.
