Teenage boy seriously injured in moped accident in Liliha

LILIHA, HI – A moped accident in Liliha early Saturday morning sent a teenager to the hospital, according to KITV.

The crash took place in the area of 605 N. School Street Vineyard Boulevard in Liliha, where paramedics responded at around 2 a.m.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services came to the aid of a passenger on the moped with extensive injuries, a 16-year-old boy.  After live-saving treatment was administered, he was transported to an emergency room and was listed in serious condition.

No injuries were reported for the driver of the moped.  There was no immediate word on what led to the accident.
