A 51-year-old man was riding an electric scooter east on North King Street when the accident happened at about 7:48 p.m. A preliminary investigation by Honolulu police indicated that the man lost control of the scooter for unknown reasons, crashed into a roadway stanchion, and was ejected onto the raised center median.
