HONOLULU, HI – A man was rushed to the hospital by EMS crews following a pedestrian accident in Honolulu Wednesday night, police said.
According to a report by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, the crash took place on Farrington Highway near Hikukahi Street in Ewa Beach at about 9:22 p.m.
Police said a 27-year-old man was standing in the roadway when he was struck by a westbound vehicle. The man was hospitalized in critical condition.
The driver of the car, a 34-year-old woman, was not injured in the incident and stayed at the scene. Police said the stretch of roadway where the incident happened was dark and did not have street lighting.
It was not believed that speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
