KANEOHE, HI – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision in the Kaneohe area last week, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
The fatal crash occurred June 25 on Kahekili Highway near Ahaolelo Road at about 2:45 a.m. Investigators with the police department’s Traffic Division learned that a male pedestrian was crossing Kahekili Highway, outside of a marked crosswalk, when he was struck by an unknown motorist going north on Kahikili Highway. The driver fled the scene without stopping to help or provide information.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police do not believe speed was a contributing factor in the incident, the 38th traffic fatality on Oahu this year compared to 15 at the same time in 2024.
Anyone with further information on what happened was asked to contact the Honolulu Police Department.
