HONOLULU, HI – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in the Makaha area late Thursday night, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
Investigators said a 65-year-old man was walking on Makaha Valley Road at about 10:49 p.m. when he was struck by a motorist headed southbound. The driver kept going south after the collision without stopping to help or provide information.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not disclosed.
Police have yet to determine whether speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the incident. Anyone with further information was asked to contact the Honolulu Police Department.
