WAIKIKI, HI – A woman was rushed to the hospital following a pedestrian accident in Waikiki on Sunday morning, reports the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
The 20-year-old victim was hit by a car at about 11 a.m. in the area of Kapahulu Avenue and Kalakaua Avenue. According to police, the woman was walking within a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle making a left turn onto Kapahulu Avenue.
The pedestrian was initially listed in serious condition at the hospital, then was reported to be in critical condition.
The driver involved, a 48-year-old woman, was not injured and stayed at the scene.
Investigators do not believe speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the collision.
