HONOLULU, HI – Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision that injured a pedestrian in Honolulu last week.
According to the Honolulu Police Department, the incident happened late on the night of Sept. 8 on Kawaihao Street near the intersection of Kamani Street.
The police department’s Traffic Division reported that a 60-year-old man was walking in the roadway at about 11:40 p.m. when he was struck by an unknown vehicle heading westbound on Kawaihao Street. Emergency Medical Services took the pedestrian to an area hospital where he was listed in serious condition.
The driver involved kept going west on Kawaihao Street after the crash without stopping to help or provide information.
Investigators had yet to determine whether speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the incident.
