WAIMANALO, HI – A car accident in Waimanalo on Friday afternoon left a driver hospitalized, reports KITV.
Police said a 23-year-old woman was driving on Hihimanu Street when the crash occurred at about 2 p.m. An investigation indicated the woman lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a fence and a tree. The vehicle then overturned before ending up a ditch along the roadway. The driver was rushed to an area hospital, where she was listed in serious condition. No one else was injured.
The accident closed Hihimanu Street between Mokulama Street and Kakaina Street. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
