WAIPAHU, HI – A two-vehicle collision in Waipahu last week left one of the drivers hospitalized, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
The accident happened in the vicinity of Hiapo Street and Paiwa Street Thursday at about 7:20 p.m. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said a van reportedly hit another vehicle at a red light at the intersection, then veered off the road and kept on going over a hill. The driver of the van, a 27-year-old man, was seriously injured and taken to an area hospital.
The other driver, a 30-year-old man, declined to be transported but was treated at the scene by EMS.
Paiwa Street was shut down for the police investigation but later reopened.
