WAHIAWA, HI – Honolulu police said a car accident in Wahiawa early Wednesday morning left a driver dead.
Hawaii News New reports the accident took place on California Avenue at about 5:30 a.m. According to investigators, a driver headed west veered off to the right side of the roadway and collided with a wooden telephone pole.
The 70-year-old motorist was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital. Police said he was wearing his seat belt at the time the wreck happened.
Investigators looking into the cause of the crash said it did not appear that drugs, alcohol or speed were contributing factors.
