WAHIAWA, HI – Honolulu police responded to a pedestrian accident that left a man critically injured on Sunday night.

According to Hawaii News Now, the incident happened at the intersection of Mango Street and California Avenue in the Wahiawa area. A man walking at that location at about 8 p.m. was hit by a car going east on California Avenue, police said.  The victim was not in a marked crosswalk at the time.

The pedestrian was rushed to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

The woman driving the vehicle involved was not injured and stayed at the scene.  Police do not believe speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
