HONOLULU, HI – Honolulu police are searching for the driver who struck and injured two people on a moped Monday morning.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports the incident happened in the vicinity of South King Street and Isenberg Street shortly before noon.
A moped going east on South King Street was struck by a vehicle heading north on Isenberg Street. A 21-year-old man who was a passenger on the moped was seriously injured and hospitalized. A 22-year-old woman who was the operator of the moped was reported to be in good condition.
Police said the driver of the vehicle involved, possibly a white van, left the scene without stopping and is now being sought. The vehicle was last seen headed north on Isenberg Street.
Anyone with further information on the hit-and-run incident was asked to contact the Honolulu Police Department Traffic Division.
