Multi-vehicle accident causes closures on H1 Freeway in Aiea area

AIEA, HI – The Hawaii Department of Transportation alerted drivers to a multi-vehicle collision disrupting traffic in the Aiea area on Tuesday night.

According to a post on X by the Hawaii DOT at 8:45 p.m., the crash happened on the H1 Freeway eastbound at the Kaonohi Street overpass. Three lanes and the right shoulder of the freeway were blocked while emergency crews responded to the scene.

All the vehicles were moved off to the right shoulder. Drivers were urged to slow down and move over when passing stopped vehicles. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
