Multi-vehicle accident blocks lanes on H-1 Freeway in Waimalu

WAIMALU, HI – A multi-vehicle accident disrupted traffic along the H-1 Freeway on Monday morning, the Hawaii Department of Transportation said.

According to an alert from the HDOT, four cars were involved in the crash on Oahu.  It happened along the H-1 Freeway westbound near the Waimalu exit at about 8:52 a.m.  Three lanes of traffic were blocked by the incident.

The Honolulu Police Department, Honolulu Fire Department, and Hawaii Freeway Service Patrol all responded to the scene.  There was no immediate word on whether anyone had been injured.

The HDOT released an update later in the  morning that all lanes had reopened.
