Driver seriously injured in 2-vehicle crash at intersection in Honolulu

HONOLULU, HI – A two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Honolulu Monday morning sent one of the drivers to the hospital, KITV reported.

The accident took place in the area of Piikoi Street and Young Street at about 7 a.m. Honolulu police said a driver was seriously injured.

Video from the scene showed that one of the vehicles involved, an SUV, went over a fire hydrant. As a result, water flooded the intersection until emergency crews arrived to shut it off.

Repairs were also needed to traffic lights in the area. Lanes were blocked, and motorists were advised to use caution and seek alternate routes.
