HONOLULU, HI – Police said a motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a hit-and-run driver in the Waianae area recently.
According to a release from the Honolulu Police Department, the March 5 incident occurred on Farrington Highway at about 8:20 p.m.
Investigators learned that a 45-year-old man was riding a motorcycle westbound when he broadsided a vehicle whose driver disregarded a stop sign. The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the bike. He was taken to an area hospital and was listed in serious condition.
The driver of the vehicle kept going westbound on Farrington Highway after the crash without stopping to help or provide any information, police said.
The incident is under investigation by the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section. Anyone with further information was asked to contact the police department.
