HONOLULU, HI – Police say a man has died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Honolulu last week, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports.
The man was riding his motorcycle westbound on Ala Wai Boulevard on Jan. 8 in the same direction as a sedan. The driver of the sedan was changing lanes at about 9:41 a.m. and collided with the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, age 59, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead on Wednesday. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.
The driver of the sedan, a 53-year-old man, was not injured and stayed at the scene. Investigators do not believe that speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the incident.
The accident remains under investigation by the Honolulu Police Department’s Vehicular Homicide Section.
