HONOLULU, HI – Authorities said a collision in Honolulu Monday morning sent a motorcycle rider to the hospital.
A report by KITV states that the accident happened on Punahou Street at about 5:55 a.m. An investigation found that the driver of a northbound truck was making a turn into a private driveway when the vehicle was struck by a motorcyclist going south on the street.
The motorcyclist, a 31-year-old Honolulu man, was listed in critical condition after being rushed to an area hospital. The truck driver, a 64-year-old Honolulu man, was not injured.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and said that at this point, speed, drugs or alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors.
