WAIPIO, HI – A collision in Waipio on Monday evening sent a teenage motorcycle rider to the hospital, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
The 19-year-old was riding a motorcycle on the H-2 Freeway at about 5 p.m. when he collided with another vehicle near the off-ramp for Ka Uka Boulevard.
The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the bike. He slid across the pavement and was reported to have suffered multiple traumatic injuries.
The rider was treated at the scene by Honolulu Emergency Medical Services and then was taken to an area trauma center, where he was listed in serious condition.
