HONOLULU, HI – A motorcyclist died of injuries suffered in an accident in the Mililani area Saturday morning, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
An investigation determined that the 23-year-old rider was headed south on the H2 Freeway at a high rate of speed at about 11:13 a.m. The motorcyclist lost control of the bike and collided with a guardrail.
The man was ejected from the motorcycle and was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead on Monday. It was unclear whether he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The police department’s Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section is continuing to investigate the incident.
