HONOLULU, HI – Police and first responders were dispatched to a motorcycle accident on the Pali Highway in Honolulu on Tuesday morning, reports Hawaii News Now.

A preliminary investigation indicated that an 18-year-old man lost control of his motorcycle while riding at about 9 a.m. and crashed.  Honolulu Emergency Medical Services treated him at the scene for a serious arm injury.  The rider was then rushed to an area trauma hospital, where he was reported to be in serious condition.

Police closed Kailua-bound lanes of Pali Highway while the scene was being cleared and investigated, but reopened them about two hours later.
