WAIPAHU, HI – A moped rider was injured in a collision involving a hit-and-run driver in the Waipahu area, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
Police are investigating the incident that took place April 8 at about 11:30 p.m. on Farrington Highway. It was reported to the department’s Traffic Division that a 50-year-old man was riding a moped eastbound when it was struck from behind by an unidentified motorist near an intersection. The moped rider was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.
The unidentified motorist fled the scene, heading eastbound on Farrington Highway.
