HONOLULU, HI – A moped rider was injured in a collision in Hawaii Kai late Tuesday night, KITV Traffic reported.
The incident, reported at 10:51 p.m., took place on Kalanianaole Highway. The victim was taken to an area hospital in serious condition. No other vehicles were involved.
Traffic was blocked on the highway while crews responded to the scene. Westbound drivers were being turned around at the Halona Blow Hole while eastbound drivers were diverted at the Koko Head Shooting Complex.
An update released later in the evening said that the highway had been reopened.
