EAST OAHU, HI – Paramedics were dispatched to the scene of a moped accident in East Oahu that left a rider critically injured, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports.
Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said a woman was riding a moped east on Kalanianaole Highway Thursday afternoon when she lost control and crashed near Paiko Drive shortly before 1:22 p.m.
EMS crews arrived to find the 28-year-old rider unresponsive. She was rushed to an area hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
An investigation is underway into the cause of the crash.
