HONOLULU, HI – Honolulu Emergency Medical Services rushed to the aid of an injured moped rider following an accident on Tuesday afternoon, according to KITV.
The single-vehicle crash took place at about 4 p.m. in the McCully/Kapiolani area. Officials said a 44-year-old woman was riding a moped when she lost control of the vehicle and hit the ground, suffering a leg injury.
EMS crews treated her at the scene before transporting the rider to an area emergency room, where she was listed in serious condition.
It was reported that the woman was not wearing a helmet at the time the incident happened.
