HONOLULU, HI – Police said a moped accident in Honolulu last week left a man critically injured.
The Honolulu Police Department reported that the collision took place Feb. 11 on Alder Street at about 11:10 p.m. An initial investigation determined that a man was riding a moped southbound near Rycroft Street when he began to slow down and the moped fell over on its side.
The 38-year-old rider was ejected onto the roadway, and was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.
It is not believed that speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the incident, but the investigation is continuing.
