HALEIWA, HI – A single-vehicle wreck along Kamehameha Highway early Friday morning left two people hospitalized, according to KITV.
The Honolulu Fire Department responded along with paramedics after the crash took place along Papailoa Beach in Haleiwa shortly after 1 a.m. They arrived to find that a vehicle had crashed into a tree.
Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to extricate one person who was trapped in the car, a 60-year-old man. He and the vehicle’s other occupant, a 66-year-old woman, were transported to an area hospital in serious condition.
No details were released about the circumstances that led to the accident.
