HONOLULU, HI – An accident along the H-1 Freeway in Honolulu early Saturday morning left a man critically injured, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports.
Police said the incident happened when the 25-year-old victim was standing on the guardrail of the Kalihi Street overpass at about 12:48 a.m. As he tried to go down to the road, he slipped and fell backward, falling onto the freeway’s eastbound lanes.
The man was struck there by one vehicle, and then another. He was transported to an area hospital and was listed initially in serious condition before being downgraded to critical condition.
The drivers of the vehicles that struck him, a 34-year-old woman and a 68-year-old woman, were not injured in the crashes. They both stayed at this scene.
