HONOLUL, HI – A man was injured in a motorcycle accident in the Kalihi area on Tuesday morning, according to police.
A press release from the Honolulu Police Department states that two motorcycles were involved in the collision on Kamehameha IV Road near Aoao Street.
An investigation determined that a 43-year-old man was attempting to turn left from Aoao Street onto Kamehameha IV Road at about 10:54 a.m. when his bike collided with a motorcycle heading northbound on Kamehameha IV Road.
The rider of the second motorcycle, a 21-year-old man, was taken to an area hospital in serious condition. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The 43-year-old was not injured and stayed at the scene. At this time, police do not believe speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
