Police said the victim was a 26-year-old man who was speeding while riding a motorcycle south on Kunia Road at about 9 a.m.  The man lost control of the bike while taking the Kunia Road off-ramp that leads to westbound Farrington Highway.

He was thrown from the motorcycle onto the roadway and was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.  The man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.

It is believed that speed was a contributing factor in the fatal wreck.
