HONOKA’A, HI – A man died following an accident involving an all-terrain vehicle in Honoka’a late Saturday night, KITV reported.
The crash took place on Mud Lane near Honoka’a Waipi’o Road at 11:35 p.m. The Hawaii Island Police said a man was driving northbound on a Honda four-wheel ATV towing a trailer.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and was ejected. The ATV overturned, and the man was pinned underneath. He was pronounced dead less than an hour later.
Police are investigating the fatal collision, and said they do not believe that speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
