MAKIKI, HI – Honolulu Emergency Medical Services transported a motorcycle rider to the hospital late Saturday night after a collision in the Makiki area, reports KITV.
Authorities said the motorcyclist, a 24-year-old man, was riding south on Punahou Street at about 11:53 p.m. when he crashed into a parked vehicle. The man was listed in critical condition.
An investigation found that he was traveling at high speed prior to the crash. It was not yet clear whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time the incident occurred, police said.
