Man critically injured in pedestrian accident on westbound H-1 Freeway

MAKIKI, HI – Paramedics came to the aid of a man critically injured in a pedestrian accident in the Makiki area last week.

According to a KITV report, the collision took place Wednesday afternoon on the H-1 Freeway heading west near the Alexander Street on-ramp. A 30-year-old man was hit by a car there, suffering life-threatening injuries.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an emergency room, where he was listed in critical condition.

The accident shut down three lanes of the H1 Freeway from Alexander Street to Keeaumoku Street until the roadway reopened shortly before 4 p.m. No details were released on what led to the collision.
