Man arrested on DUI charge following 2-vehicle collision in Kona

KONA, HI – Police officers in Kona arrested one of the drivers involved in a T-bone collision that occurred Monday morning, reports KITV.

The incident took place along Palani Road between Henry Street and Ane Keohokalole Highway shortly before 5:51 a.m.  Responding officers learned that a Hyundai sedan had collided with a Toyota pickup truck, resulting in the pickup flipping onto its side.

The Hyundai driver, a 22-year-old man, was subsequently arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant along with other traffic related offenses.

No injuries were reported in the wreck, which disrupted traffic in the area for over an hour.
